Krakatau seismic activities Disturb Tourists Visiting Interests (Tuesday, November 16, 2010)
Anyer (ANTARA) - Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI) Serang said the activity of Mount Anak Krakatau (GAK) in the Sunda Strait that makes the world of tourism throughout the region disrupted in Anyer.
"The occupancy rate of hotels and visit tourist attractions in several places along the coast of Anyer has decreased due to activity of GAK in the Sunda strait," said chairman PHRI Serang, Handomo Tuesday.
According to him, GAK conditions that still feels like activity backfire, with the amount of fluctuation, and never reached 933 times the quake caused the occupancy rate decreased 10-20 percent.
He said it would actually promote the condition of GAK as one of the attractions worth visiting, such as 200 European tourists look closely at the distance radius GAK safe some time ago.
"Shocks GAK will I sell and promote. It's quite safe, which should not be it at a distance of two kilometers. But strangely why instead of fear," he added.
He menelaskan, there are two models of tourists that had come to around Pantai Anyer. First are those who understand the related conditions of GAK, and who did not understand so afraid to come to the area of Anyer.
"Those who understand that the condition of GAK is safe, even come and ask to transfer to look closely. They argue that the natural phenomenon that is very interesting to see.
As for those who do not understand, do not dare to come and closer. They assume that GAK like Merapi. But that's the reality, he said.
On Sunday (14/11) Post Pematau GAK in the Village District Pasauran Cinangka, Serang, Banten province recorded 621 times the number of earthquakes with details of the volcanic (VA) 32 times, shallow volcanic (VB) 209 times, 43 eruption, tremors 122 times, and blowing out 215 times.
"There are still volatile in nature. While still alert status or level II, and we prohibit residents near the location to within a radius of two kilometers," said Chief Observer GAK Anton S Pambudi.
