"The data that had been dying from PTM 41.7 percent in 1995 increased to 59.5 percent in 2007. The cause of death in Indonesia is a stroke of 15.4 percent," said Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih when opening a regional meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO) Southeast Asia that address non-communicable diseases prevention, held at the Hotel Gran Melia, Jakarta, on Tuesday. One of the activities undertaken was the establishment of a network called Menkes PTM with the program include community-based interventions is the Integrated Development of Post (Posbindu) who do the "screening" risk factor prevention counseling PTM and PTM. "Another program is the tobacco control advocacy activities including the formation of alliances mayors and regents, monitoring tobacco use and develop rules and regulations," said Minister of Health. Currently PTM program coverage has reached 60 percent of the province in the country with the main activities undertaken in the form of socialization and advocacy, control of risk factors, early detection, case management, epidemiological surveillance, networking partnerships, monitoring, IEC, evaluation, financing and workforce.
